Order of event
6th Annual Round Rangihoua 4 Hour Challenge
1st December 2012
Race classes selection.
All classes come in Junior (up to 18yo), Open (19 – 40), and Masters (41+)
- Men’s Team (teams of 2-4 riders)
- Women’s Team (teams of 2-4 riders)
- Mixed Team (teams of 2-5 riders, minimum 1 female)
- Solo Man
- Solo Woman
- Single Speed
Entry fee is $30 per rider includes:
- Teams – team site
“sponsors name” Best Dressed team – to encourage teams to give it their all and enter into the social spirit of the event, we will be awarded some cool Ice Breaker gear to the Best Dressed team. The decision will be at sole discretion of the organisers and no discussion with be entered into!!!
Minimum age – there will be a minimum age for competitors of 14 years, (no maximum age!!).

Merit Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the first three teams in each category. But if there are less than five teams in a category, only the winner will be awarded.
Entry
Entries will be received online $30 or on race day $40.
Course
The Onetangi Sports Park located on Waiheke Island .The 4.2km track has been purposefully built and it caters for all levels of mountain bikers from recreation to expert.
Saturday 1st December 2012
Registration in the pavilion from10.30am –11.15am Site will be located center stage
ALL teams to be set up on site by 11.15am
Vehicle traffic MUST all be off the course/ Race Village site by
11.15am. Vehicle access onto the field will be closed for the duration of the event.
11.15 – Race briefing – Centre Stage
11.30am – Race Start 4 hour ride
3.20 pm – Call made for cut off time for last 4 hour riders to be on course for their last lap.
3.30pm – Finish of race
3.45pm – Prize Giving at the center stage for race
Team site
Each team will be allocated a site on the course which will be your team possie for the duration of the race and where you will change riders. If you wish to have a site next to another team, then no guarantees but the earlier you register the better the chances as space is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served bases.
Because there is limited space and road access to the sites, teams must be prepared to carry their gear from their vehicle to their site.
Vehicles & Parking
Due to space restrictions teams are only able to have a tent on their 4 x 4m site. If you wish to have a vehicle instead of a tent on your site you need to e mail [email protected]
Race Village
Tent sites will be in 1 area at the sports park
There will be lots of action in the centre stage where you can boogie to music and a live band at night, meet other teams, drink endless fair trade coffee, pop in to the sponsor’s tents or get your bike repaired for the next few laps.
Spot prizes will be given away at various times during the day & night
Kids Race – a family track is available to ride up until 11am as the 4hr event utilizes the family rack, A kids Race takes place around 10.30 through the start finish line.
The family track will be at Childs own risk as it will not be supervised at all times.
What you will need to bring
Bike, Helmet, light for bike/ helmet, gloves, glasses, rain biking gear, drink bottle and drink, blankets, food with some hot options if it is cold, BBQ
Safety
Hard shell, standards-approved helmets must be worn throughout the race.
Riders must obey all marshals and all normal road rules when on the road sections of the race.
Race Numbers and timing
Timing is done used the HL440, no need to wear transponders etc, you must have a number on your bike.
